I’m Kelley Hazen. I am the Trainer for The Manadoob Educator Training Program and the spokesperson for this remarkable system, The Manadoob Program for Self-Esteem.
I’m originally from the Midwest and have a Master’s Degree in the Fine Arts, summa cum laude. I have lived all over the United States and had the opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life, all ideologies. But first and foremost I am a teacher and a facilitator. Leading people to a connection to things has always been at the core of whatever I do since my days with the NY Hall of Science in Queens, NY. I journeyed throughout the NY Public School System introducing grade school kids to astronomy. Imagine the challenge of vividly yet accurately defining the concept of a light year, a glimpse into our own seemingly miniscule and yet immensely complex place in the Universe with the knowledge that we view many heavenly objects long after they have died. Now add the privilege of introducing this idea to a child who can barely see the stars in the bright lights of Manhattan. I feel blessed by the road my life has taken.
I have had the wonderful opportunity to research cultures and concepts from around the globe and across time as I developed and presented public programs to launch the ‘hands-on’ exhibit program for The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago.
Connection continues in my work today as I lecture for the world renowned Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, where I have had the pleasure to speak to diplomats and celebrities alike including the honor of conducting the lecture for our First Lady, Michelle Obama and her children, Malia and Sasha at the occasion of their private visit to the Griffith.
In addition to my work as teacher and lecturer, I coach professional artists in their work at my private studio and have been an artist myself for almost three decades.
The one truth I have seen constant throughout my life and in my work is the wonder in the face of a person who has truly connected to themselves and discovered how they fit into the world and with the world. It is a moment of amazement. A startling freedom, a certain joy. There is a grace that comes with knowing one’s connection. Adults become children again in this power. And children become…fearless.
I believe The Manadoob Program for Self-Esteem can give that power and that is why I am here.
